Abbeywood Estate Wedding Photography
Today was perfect for Abbeywood Estate wedding photography. The weather was stunning and it was so hot, I couldn’t have asked for a better day to have the ceremony outside. When I first arrived, Mike and the guys had just turned up so I spent a bit of time with them and a bit of time perusing the grounds and getting ideas for the portraits later. Amy was still yet to arrive and Mike was keeping well away from the window so that he didn’t accidentally catch a glance of the bride on her way in. I introduced myself to the catering and event manager, Lauren, of Benjamin Lauren Catering who gave me a lovely tour of the grounds.
When Amy arrived, I went and joined the bridal party and introduced myself to the bridesmaids and other guests. The view from the bridal suite looked right down on to where the ceremony was taking place which was fantastic because Amy could see everyone as they took their seats waiting for her arrival
I joined Mike at the ceremony point in anticipation of Amy’s arrival. She looked stunning as she walked down the aisle and Mike was clearly moved as you will see from the photos below. The ceremony was fantastic with lovely readings and vows. I had arranged beforehand for the guests to line the aisle, after the ceremony, for the confetti throwing. Possibly the longest confetti throwing line I have organised!
After the ceremony, we did the group shot and drinks reception which was shortly followed by the portraits with Mike & Amy. I need to say thank you to Christina, who was one of the guests at the wedding. She was very helpful and acted as my assistant to some extent.
The wedding breakfast at Abbeywood Estate followed the speeches, which were fantastic. The perfect blend of humour, anecdotes and emotion. It was nice to learn how hard working and dedicated Mike & Amy have both been over the years. It has clearly resulted in a strong relationship and very successful careers.
After the speeches, we took the opportunity to nip outside (after the rain) to get a couple more portrait shots. I like to do the more dramatic and moody shots when the light has dropped and this was the perfect time. You can see how the sun was setting behind the clouds on one of the photos below.
The first dance was hosted by the evening entertainment, a five piece band who rocked the dancefloor until and long after I left. I always stay for a bit after the first dance to get photos of people dancing. The first few songs is where people release and go crazy on the dancefloor and I always make sure I am around to capture that.
A huge congratulation to Mike & Amy on their wedding and thanks to all those who were involved, including all the staff at Abbeywood Estate. If you are getting married soon, I would definitely recommend this venue and don’t forget to get in touch with me for your Abbeywood Estate wedding photography.
