Stanley House Wedding Photography
I’ve always enjoyed Stanley House Wedding Photography since I first shot a wedding at Stanley House a couple of years ago. It is located in the stunning Lancashire countryside and has the advantage of being quite high up which means the winter light is amazing in this location. The sunsets are super low and the light is so golden, perfect for my style of photography.
When I arrived, Rachel and the girls were getting ready in the bridal suite. Calm is not the word! I don’t think I’ve met such a chilled out bride, having said that, the last bride I photographer here was also really calm so maybe it’s the venue. Rachel wanted to wait out by the Christmas tree for the ceremony to start and when her Dad came over to see her for the first time, it was perfect timing. The bridesmaids all looked stunning as did the rest of the bridal party.
The ceremony was really nice and although Rachel has told me how her and Chris weren’t particularly ‘lovey dovey’, their connection was clear throughout the ceremony as you can see from the photos below. After the ceremony, Chris’ Mum had surprised them with reindeer which were waiting outside the venue. Rachel’s face was a picture, literally. Shortly after, we headed out to do some portraits and group photos. It was absolutely freezing on this day but Rachel braved the weather to get the photographs like the one above. Well worth it!
After the drinks reception, it was time for the wedding breakfast which was shortly followed by the speeches. I’ve really come to enjoy speeches over the years. Even though I don’t usually know many people at the wedding, its kind of like a crash course in getting to know them, which is really nice as I get to learn the story about the couple as well as capture their wedding. The speeches were hilarious and this led nicely on to a break before the evening guests arrived. I took the opportunity to setup for the first dance and introduce myself to the band, the Funk Soul Family, who were outstanding from the start.
The first dance was great, not just your traditional dance but a medley of songs and dance moves to go with them. You can see from the photos below that Chris and Rachel had so much fun doing this and the guests loved it too. It’s always nice to see something a bit different and it was a fantastic end to the day and start of the party!
A huge congratulations to Rachel and Chris on their marriage and I wish them all the best in the future. Thanks to all the people who helped bring the day, including the staff at Stanley House and The Flower Shop for their stunning display.
