Alderley Edge Hotel Wedding Photography

What a fantastic day for Alderley Edge Hotel wedding photography. The weather was perfect for the view at the Edge and it was just the right temperature for everyone to be able to enjoy themselves for Charlotte and Andy’s wedding.

I first heard from Charlotte after I had shot her friend, Sarah’s wedding at Peckforton Castle. She got in touch with me to say how much she loved my work and that she was in the midst of planning her own wedding. What a lovely way to start! We exchanged a few emails and she showed me some photos of her engagement at Disneyland but then I didn’t hear back from Charlotte. I got in touch and I was shocked to learn that her Maid of Honour, Dawn, had suddenly been diagnosed with cancer. This obviously put a stop to wedding plans immediately. I kept in touch with Charlotte and a few weeks later, I was devastated to hear that Dawn had passed away. I sent Charlotte my sympathies and advised her that if and when she wanted to start planning her wedding again, I would be here for her. I knew this would be incredibly important and when Charlotte got in touch to tell me that she wanted me to capture her wedding, I knew I had capture the magic of this day for both Charlotte and Dawn.

The day started with the bridal party at Charlotte’s house. The girls were busy having their hair and makeup done whilst Sasha from Sassflower was making some final adjustments to the bouquets. This can sometimes be quite a hectic part of the day but everything was really calm and the mood was soothing. It wasn’t long before Charlotte was getting in her dress and the bridal party were making their final touches before leaving for the church.

The church was literally down the road so the videographer and I left a little earlier than Charlotte so that we could get setup and ready for the Bride’s grand arrival. Charlotte looked incredible coming down the aisle and Andy’s face was a picture when he saw his Bride for the first time. The love and emotion was obvious throughout, as you will see from the images below. One of the things I love about photography is that it isolates a moment that can tell a thousand words.

Next we had the opportunity for Alderley Edge Hotel wedding photography. We headed over to the edge, which was pretty busy but everyone kindly moved aside for the Bride and Groom so we could get the shot. After a short session of photographs, we headed over to the Alderley Edge Hotel for the reception. This was followed by the wedding breakfast and the speeches which were emotional and very special to all in attendance. Respects were paid to Dawn throughout. Next was the first dance which was so quirky it still makes me laugh looking at the photos below.

A huge thanks to everyone who brought the day together including all the staff at Alderley Edge Hotel. The day was a huge success with a clear display and feel of love in the air throughout. I am honoured to have had the opportunity to capture this wedding and I sincerely wish all the best to Charlotte, Andy and their family.
